Can foreigners buy property in Mexico City?
Yes. Mexico City is outside the restricted coastal and border zones, so foreigners can buy directly. The notary public handles the required paperwork with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) as part of the closing.
What do I need to rent an apartment in Polanco?
Usually the first month of rent, one month of security deposit, ID, proof of income and either a local guarantor (aval) or a rental legal policy (póliza jurídica), which is the common option for newcomers.
